From Repubblica.it publish in full the position of two environmental organizations.
http://parma.repubblica.it/dettaglio/passerella-e-golf-nel-torrente-il-no-della-lipu-e-del-wwf/1606922?edizione=EdRegionale In recent months the press has made aware of several projects of the municipality, on the urban section of Parma and Baganza and some adjacent areas. There was talk of ecological networks, green-ways, walkways, observation points, bars, restaurants, golf courses and much more. Consistency is not always clear, if not the compatibility between these different projects. Wishes to be contacted as environmental groups before final decisions are made, lessons learned, however, allows us to express some considerations and some requests for the protection of the valuable aspects of the city's riverside areas. * The urban section of the river has very special characteristics compared to other green areas of the city is still subject to flooding (in spite of the expansion speakers, but serve only to secure the city and any infrastructure and equipment in the bed! ), home to many animal and plant species not found elsewhere in the urban area, is the main ecological corridor not only for the city, but also for the territories located downstream and upstream of it. - The stream to be valued in the sense that we must recognize the value of what it contains in terms of biodiversity. Heron, night heron, egret, pheasant, kingfisher, woodpecker, sparrow, squirrel, marten, and roe deer are only some of the many species that inhabit this environment. - Today, the lack of access and trails in wetlands can observe with relative ease along the corners of Parma animals and scenery that can be considered exceptional for the center of a medium-sized cities such as Parma. - Any pedestrian cycle of free access would cause disturbance to wildlife and a possible factor of degradation, such as the abandonment of waste.
- Before designing any action concerning the creek should be to deal with what we risk losing. - Alternatively, there are other more appropriate ways to better appreciate the diversity of life in the stream: the construction of observation points along the Parma, guided the second time and as appropriate and controlled use of certain features, such as the 'area of \u200b\u200becological balance between the bridge and bridge Dattaro Stendhal. - Areas adjacent to and directly linked to the river area, the former course, could further enhance the functionality of the ecological network, if properly managed. Otherwise, the construction of facilities, services and settlements would lead to further fragmentation of the urban ecological network, affecting adversely the river and the other remaining areas of green space. - The fund should be earmarked for expansion, consistent with its hydraulic functions, improve the biological richness of the stream, avoiding use accessories that are in conflict with it. Finally we take this opportunity to express a positive evaluation about the signs, placed at the bridges and along some stretches of Parma, which explain some characteristics of the riverbed and the importance of a careful maintenance of the valuable aspects of this strip of naturalness. There are signs indicating the right way. The stream is not Parma an empty space, but an environment rich in biodiversity occupy it with something different is to lose this treasure.
